Starting today, the exhibition of the works of our ArtArmor project will be on display for almost two months at the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War. Oleksandr Kovalchuk, the initiator and patron of the project, signed the corresponding memorandum today with the director of the metrological complex Yuriy Savchuk.
ArtArmor is a unique project not only for Ukraine, but also for the world. For the first time, real armored plates that successfully fulfilled their mission in battle – stopping enemy bullets and shrapnel – are getting a second life in the form of art objects with the participation of the most famous artists.
Famous Ukrainian artists, including Tyberiy Silvashy, Nazar Bilyk, Petro Bevza, Andriy Bludov, Yuriy Vakulenko, Yuriy Vakulenko, Oleksiy Sai, Svitlana Ratoshniuk, Anton Logov, Leonid Kolodnytskyi, have turned armored plates into art objects with exclusive stories.
Thanks to this creative approach, armor will save lives for the second time, because the funds from the sale of art objects will be used to purchase new personal protective equipment for our military. You can get acquainted with the works of artists in the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War with both individual and collective tours.
ArtArmor was organized by the team of our volunteer center Ukraine For Heroes together with the McCann Kyiv agency and art curator and art advisor Iryna Yuferova, the team of Studio “Kvartal 95” Artem Gagarin Mykhailichenko.
ArtArmor is supported by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the General Staff, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, and the Office of the President of Ukraine.
