United States Secretary of state Anthony Blinken was presented with an ArtArmor icon written on the armor plate

The icon of Archstrategist Michael, written on an armor plate, was presented to United States Secretary of state Anthony Blinken during his visit to Ukraine in early September 2023.

The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine handed over to our charity art project the armor plates that saved the lives of the soldiers of the Service who are currently fighting at the front. These plates will become “canvases” for new masterpieces.

As a sign of gratitude for the direct participation in bringing peace to Ukraine, as well as the support of our art project, the founder of ArtArmor, Oleksandr Kovalchuk, handed over the icon of Arch-strategist Michael from the exhibition “Spiritual Victory” to the Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Serhii Deineko.

Later, this icon was presented to the United States secretary of state as a gratitude to the distinguished American high-ranking official, as well as to the entire US people for their assistance to Ukraine.

ArtArmor Children-UA: a charitable art project held an all-Ukrainian creative competition for children

The ArtArmor charitable art project together with the brand of jewellery LOVE YOU Jewels held a competition of artworks ArtArmor Children-UA.

Children aged 12-15 from all over Ukraine were invited to participate in the competition. The task was to draw a composition on the topic “Glory to Heroes”.

The LOVE YOU brand awarded valuable prizes to the winners of the competition. The brand of jewellery also donated 1 million hryvnias to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine These funds will be used to meet the needs of the military, which are taken care of in particular by the ArtArmor project, namely:

  • Purchase of protective equipment (helmets, bullet-proof vest);
  • Purchase of demining equipment;
  • Payment for treatment and rehabilitation of injured defenders of Ukraine.

It was hard to select the winners because we received hundreds of works written by very talented children from all over Ukraine.

However, on August 14, 2023, the results of the competition were announced. 10 children won valuable prizes from the competition’s partners and were granted the right to put their works on armor plates that saved the lives of defenders of Ukraine.

All participants of the competition received a solemn gratitude for their participation and support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with their creativity.

Based on the competition results, the National Museum of the History of Ukraine in the Second World War held the grand opening of the ArtArmor Children of Ukraine exhibition, which presents the works of participants and armor plates transformed into art objects by the winners on August 30, 2023. In the future, these armored plates will tell the story of our people’s struggle for existence as exhibition items or will be sold at charity auctions to raise funds for the support of the Armed Forces.

The ArtArmor exhibition “Spiritual Victory” was replenished with three new icons

In August 2023, the ArtArmor exhibition “Spiritual Victory” was replenished with three new icons written on armor plates: “Protection of the Holy Virgin”, “Holy Family”, and “Savior in the Tomb”.

This series of works proves that we constantly pray for the defenders of Ukraine, who are fighting for the freedom, independence and right of existence of Ukrainians. Each work is written on the armor plate that saved the lives of our soldiers.

Currently, the collection contains 15 icons written on armor plates that saved the lives of defenders of Ukraine at the front. Earlier, 12 of these icons visited the churches of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine and the Roman Catholic Church. In May of this year, His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphany of Kyiv and All Ukraine consecrated these icons in St. Michael’s Golden-Domed Cathedral in Kyiv.

We are grateful to the icon painters who only recently joined the ArtArmor charitable art project but have already created such masterpieces.
